It generates traffic, events, and stores product details. Feeding all this website data to ECDP will allow you to plan and trigger multichannel campaigns, recommend products, and include website events in automated marketing scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>Settings <\/strong>&gt;<strong> Websites,<\/strong> you will configure a website, a tracking script for this website, and a product catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"add-a-website\">Add a website<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>Add website<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Enter a <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">name<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> for your website. Pick something that makes sense to you, it doesn&#8217;t have to match the domain.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Add the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">website URL<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Optionally, write a <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">description<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Choose the website <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">language<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">. Base this choice on how numeric data, e.g. decimal separators or date formats, is already displayed on your website. Since this setting reflects a locale, not just the lanuage.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Next, configure the product catalog. This step is optional.<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Select a <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">product catalog<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> you want to connect with this website. If you have not created one yet, you can do it here \u2013 just add a catalog name and it will be created once you save the website settings. Choose an installation scenario depending on your goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/help.expertsender.com\/ecdp\/business-unit-setup\/#i-collect-data-from-eu-customers\">I collect customer data inside the EU<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/help.expertsender.com\/ecdp\/business-unit-setup\/#i-do-not-collect-data--from-eu-customers\">I don&#8217;t collect data from EU customers<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"website-characteristics\">Website characteristics<a href=\"#website-characteristics\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each website you add has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Status<\/strong> that informs you about the current state of the website configuration:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Active<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> \u2013 the configuration has been completed, and the tracking script is ready to work. If you want to collect product data, activate the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/help.expertsender.com\/ecdp\/creating-product-catalog\/#tracking-data-updates\">self-building product catalog<\/a> <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">or<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/help.expertsender.com\/ecdp\/creating-product-catalog\/#cyclical-import-of-a-product-feed-file\">create a cyclical product feed import<\/a>. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Configuration in progress <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u2013 configuration on our side is in progress.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Upload tracking script <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u2013 to fully use the data from your website, <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/help.expertsender.com\/ecdp\/website-setup\/#add-tracking-code\">add the tracking code<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">. <\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Inactive<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> \u2013 data and events from the website are no longer tracked and collected. The product catalog related to this website is not deleted. However, if this website was the only one linked to a catalog, the cyclical product feed imports will be stopped.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deleted <\/strong>\u2013 the website was deleted, but it can be restored:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Select the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Show deleted websites<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> option located above the grid table. The deleted websites are hidden by default.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Click the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Restore<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> action button for the website you want to bring back.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The website will be restored with <strong>Inactive<\/strong> status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ID and name<\/strong> to identify the website when creating content, automation scenarios, and when using the API.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Website<strong> URL<\/strong> address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The main <strong>language<\/strong> of the site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Product catalog<\/strong> connected to the website.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"access-product-catalog-from-website-setting-page\">How to access a product catalog from the website settings page?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can browse the product catalog connected to the website, but you cannot edit it. Click the <strong>Browse<\/strong> action button for a selected website, and the catalog will open.
