content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel enables handling subscribers whose only form of communication is an API call to an external system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is an integration channel designed for organizations that want to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>transfer data to their own systems,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>trigger backend processes,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>execute system-to-system integrations,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>handle users without an email address or phone number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel is not a marketing channel and is not used to send messages (email, SMS, push).<br>It operates exclusively within Workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"key-features\">Key Features<a content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel is suitable when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>communication takes place exclusively via API,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the user exists in an external system,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you need to trigger processes (e.g., registration, status updates, data synchronization),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you do not plan to send marketing messages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br>A user registers in a mobile application, and the system transfers their data to a CRM or ERP without sending an email message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"subscriber-management\">Subscriber Management<a href=\"#subscriber-management\" class=\"not-prose existing subscriber,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>remove the Custom channel from a subscriber.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The channel is available when adding or removing a subscriber (if it is enabled in administrative settings).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"segmentation\">Segmentation<a href=\"#segmentation\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel is available in segmentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>create segments of subscribers who have the Custom channel,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>combine it with other segmentation conditions,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>build scenario logic based on channel membership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The segmentation view works analogously to other channels (e.g., Web Push).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"workflows\">Workflows<a href=\"#workflows\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel operates exclusively within Scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>trigger scenarios for subscribers who only have the Custom channel,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use the following elements:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>API Call<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Execute Code<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>transfer data to external systems,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>build system-to-system automations,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use related data within Dynamic Content (available only in the context of scenarios).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"api\">API<a href=\"#api\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel is fully supported via API.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>add subscribers with the Custom channel,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>remove the Custom channel,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>trigger events (Custom Events),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>retrieve subscriber information including Custom channel details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"limitations\">Limitations<a href=\"#limitations\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>does not support campaign sending,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>does not include a message editor,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>does not store marketing subscription history,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>is not visible in the Preference Center,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>does not support unsubscribe links,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>does not support the Snooze option,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>does not replace Email, SMS, or Push channels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is an integration channel intended for process automation and system communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"channel-availability\">Channel Availability<a href=\"#channel-availability\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel is an additional service and requires dedicated configuration on the platform side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To activate this content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Custom channel extends the platform\u2019s capabilities by enabling support for subscribers who do not communicate through traditional marketing channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It allows you to build automations based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>API calls,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>scenario logic,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>integrations with external systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If your goal is system-to-system communication rather than message delivery, the Custom channel is the right
