{"id":6762,"date":"2024-03-11T03:44:03","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T02:44:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.expertsender.com\/emp\/workflow-sms-mms-messages\/"},"modified":"2024-03-19T13:29:57","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T12:29:57","slug":"workflow-sms-mms-messages","status":"publish","type":"es","link":"https:\/\/help.expertsender.com\/pl\/emp\/workflow-sms-mms-messages\/","title":{"rendered":"Workflow SMS\/MMS messages"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Workflow SMS\/MMS messages are SMS\/MMS messages sent as a part of a <a href=\"354451-workflows-introduction\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">workflow<\/a> in the <a href=\"workflow-events#wf_sms\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">Send SMS\/MMS event<\/a>. Note that in order to use an SMS\/MMS message in a workflow, you need to create it using the guidelines below &#8211; no SMS\/MMS messages of any other type may be used in a workflow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is possible to use particular message only once within any of the created work\ufb02ows. The work\ufb02ow that is using a particular SMS\/MMS message is indicated on the work\ufb02ow SMS\/MMS messages list. Only active messages that have no work\ufb02ow assigned can be used for <em>Send\u00a0<\/em>events.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>To create a new workflow SMS\/MMS message, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"preparation\">Preparation<a href=\"#preparation\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>From the left-hand navigation, select <strong>Workflows\u00a0<\/strong>&gt; <strong>SMS\/MMS\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Messages<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike for email messages, there is only one type of editor you may compose your message in: the plain editor. It is selected by default. Click <strong>Next\u00a0<\/strong>to proceed.<\/li>\n<li>At the second stage of the wizard, select the <strong>Sender\u00a0<\/strong>from the list of senders defined at the stage of <a href=\"374804-setting-up-the-sms-mms-channel\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">SMS channel configuration<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, add a custom <strong>campaign description<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Composing your message<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You may either compose a new message from scratch (click <strong>Text editor<\/strong>) or reuse an old message (click <strong>Reuse Message<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>Within the text editor, enter the content of the message. Please note that you may also use <a href=\"368888-personalization-tags\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">personalization tags<\/a> and <a class=\"currently-active\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/expertsender.com\/dynamic-content-documentation\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">dynamic content<\/a> in the SMS channel.\n<div class=\"f-accordion-panel fr-inner\">\n<h2 id=\"sms-message-length\">SMS message length\u00a0<a href=\"#sms-message-length\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The length limit of a simple SMS message is 160 characters (without special characters) or 70 characters (with special characters). SMS messages longer than 160 characters are, in fact, sent as concatenated simple messages and are later reassembled by the recipient&#8217;s cell phone. Usually, SMS messages can consist of maximally 6 parts. At this point, there is a number of additional options which you can explore:\n<div class=\"f-accordion-panel fr-inner\">\n<h2 id=\"google-analytics\">Google Analytics<a href=\"#google-analytics\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>If you use Google Analytics, you may integrate it with your ExpertSender messages in order to gain access to the insights offered by this tool. It is enough to check <strong>Enable Google Analytics<\/strong> and fill in the fields. To learn more about Google Analytics integration, read <a href=\"348595-use-google-analytics-with-expert-sender\" title=\"\">Use Google Analytics with ExpertSender<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"f-accordion-panel fr-inner\">\n<h2 id=\"send-to-seed-list\">Send to seed list<a href=\"#send-to-seed-list\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Seed lists are designed to store either test phone numbers or 3rd party phone numbers. Test phone numbers are usually used by our clients to test creatives (mainly their rendering and Dynamic Content) before the actual message is launched. Using seed lists before sending the message to your real-world subscriber is considered good practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"f-accordion-panel fr-inner\">\n<h2 id=\"live-preview\">Live preview<a href=\"#live-preview\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>With the <strong>Live preview<\/strong> utility you may verify how your message will be displayed for a specific phone number. Live preview is particularly useful if you want to test your Dynamic Content. For example, you may check if a subscriber will receive a message with his or her name displayed properly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you are not satisfied with the result, continue editing your message. Otherwise, click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"add_recipients\">Recipients<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Unlike for a <a href=\"344712-newsletters\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">SMS newsletter<\/a>, you don&#8217;t choose a list of recipients for a workflow SMS\/MMS message. Instead, the recipients of workflow messages are subscribers who complete a transaction or cause an event which is associated with the message. However, if there are subscribers who shouldn&#8217;t receive the workflow message even though they fulfill the criteria (e.g. make a purchase), you may create a suppression list with their data. At the <strong>Recipients\u00a0<\/strong>stage of the message wizard, you may select the appropriate suppression list.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Next\u00a0<\/strong>to proceed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"choose-delivery-settings\">Choose delivery settings<a href=\"#choose-delivery-settings\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>At this step, you may add some tags to your message, such as &#8220;discount&#8221; or &#8220;special offer&#8221;. Later on, you may use a tag to find a specific message more easily, or to create a segment of subscribers who, for example, have already received a &#8220;special offer&#8221; email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"youre-almost-there\">You&#8217;re almost there!<a href=\"#youre-almost-there\" class=\"not-prose content-heading-link\">#<\/a><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Carefully analyze the summary.
