Web Tracking

The web tracking section is where you manage all the websites you monitor with ExpertSender, plus your product catalogs.

Websites

Here you can add any website or online store where you want to track customer behavior and send that data to ExpertSender CDP.

Your websites appear in a table with these details:

  • ID – a simple reference number.
  • Name – what you call the website (doesn’t need to match the actual domain).
  • Status – shows if your tracking code is working properly.
  • URL – the main language of the site.
  • Language – the main language of the site.

For each website, you can: browse the product catalog, add tracking code, turn tracking on or off, edit details, or delete it entirely.

Create new website

  1. Click Create new website (you’ll find it above the table on the right).
  2. Enter a name for your website – pick something that makes sense to you, it doesn’t have to match the domain.
  3. Add the website URL.
  4. Write a description if you want (this step is optional).
  5. Choose the site language.
  6. Decide how you want to build your product database:
    • Activate self-building product feed – Choose this if you want product data collected automatically using our tracking script.
    • Overwrite products added through import (of a product feed) – Select this if you want the tracking script to update any products you’ve imported manually.
  7. Click Save when you’re done, or Close if you want to cancel.

Adding a tracking code to the website

To get data from your websites into ExpertSender, you need to add our tracking script to your site code.

Each website gets its own unique script. This keeps data from different sites separate and makes your reports much clearer.

You’ll find step-by-step instructions in our Configuring the web tracking channel

Product feeds

This is where you add and manage product feeds for all your websites.

Your product catalogs show up in a table with:

  • ID – the catalog reference number.
  • Name – shows which store this feed belongs to.
  • Website – the site name and ID from your websites tab.
  • Status – whether tracking is active, inactive, or deleted.
  • Type – how the feed was created (automatically or imported from Google Merchant, XML, JSON, or CSV files).
  • Currency – what currency your prices use.

For each feed, you can: view details, check download history, turn it on or off, edit settings, download outside your regular schedule, or delete it.

Two ways to build your product feed

  • Automatically – when customers visit your product pages, our tracking code adds them to ExpertSender without any extra work from you.
  • Import – upload your product catalog from a file.

Either way, you’ll need to set up the web tracking channel first. You can create one product feed per online store in ECDP. Check out our Creating a product feed guide for detailed steps on both automatic and manual setup.
